Robredo camp grateful for support from Pinoys abroad

The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday expressed gratitude to the outpouring of support to her 2022 presidential bid, including from Filipinos abroad.

"We are grateful and inspired by the outpouring of support for Vice President Leni's candidacy from Filipinos from all walks of life, both in the Philippines and overseas," said lawyer Ibarra Gutierrez, Robredo's spokesperson.

Gutierrez issued the statement after the nationwide caravan for Robredo last week was followed by mobilizations by her supporters in Canada, Qatar, New York and San Francisco in the United States, Hong Kong, Macau, Ireland, Belgium, Austria and Kuwait, among others.

"Nanawagan si Vice President Leni ng people's campaign, at ito ang nakikita natin ngayon. Nandito ang ating lakas. Nandito ang ating tagumpay," Gutierrez added.

(The Vice President has called for people's campaign, and we are seeing it. This is our strength and this will be our victory.)

Robredo, in declaring her 2022 presidential bid, said that the fight for the presidency is not only hers but more so of the people who deserve better governance, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. —KBK, GMA News
