PNP COVID-19 cases breach 42K

The total number of COVID-19 cases among personnel of the Philippine National Police breached the 42,000-mark on Saturday, the PNP said.

Twenty-five new COVID-19 cases were reported on Saturday among police personnel, driving up the total to 42,003, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

Of this number, 338 are active cases.

Recoveries went up by 23 to 41,542.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 123.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 2,376 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s active cases to 37,377. 

According to the DOH, the nationwide tally climbed to 2,797,986.

The DOH also announced that total recoveries climbed to 2,716,524 with 2,109 new ones while 260 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 44,085. —KG, GMA News
