Philippines gets additional 866,970 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

The Philippines received an additional 866,970 doses of government-procured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday night.

The fresh batch of vaccines landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 8 p.m.


The country received a total of 866,970 doses of Pfizer vaccine on Friday night.

Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor, head of the NTF COVID-19's sub-task group on current operations, thanked the United States government for facilitating the delivery of the vaccine.

“This is part of the 1.7 million doses of vaccine which arrived last night. Again, these are very helpful doses for us, for the lives of the Filipinos so thank you US government,” he added.

According to the NTF, the Philippines administered a total of 62,474,334 jabs nationwide, bringing the total of fully vaccinated individuals to 28,718,856 or 37.23% of the country’s target population as of Thursday, November 4.
