Duterte: Gov’t to hold nat’l vaccination drive from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 2021

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday night said the government will hold a three-day national vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1, coinciding with the November 30 commemoration of Bonifacio Day.

In his weekly Talk to the People, Duterte said the vaccination drive aims to convey the message that every Filipino who will get vaccinated are considered heroes.

"Ang gusto sabihin dito ng gobyerno na kayong lahat na nagpabakuna ay heroes. Lahat kayo hero. 'Yong hindi nagpabakuna, mga pangit," he said.

[What the government wants to impart is that everyone who has been vaccinated are heroes. You are all heroes. Those who haven't gotten vaccinated yet are ugly.]

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. had earlier disclosed that the government was eyeing a three-day national vaccination drive, with the bulk of the country's vaccine supplies having already arrived.

Almost 30 million Filipinos are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Philippines officially rolled out its vaccination program on March 1.

The country has so far recorded 2,806,694 COVID-19 cases, including 2,731,583 recoveries and 44,567 fatalities. — BM, GMA News
