Team serving warrant for Lao's arrest finds his house empty


Members of a team from the Senate's Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) on Saturday found the Davao house of controversial ex-Department of  Budget and Management (DBM) official Lloyd Christopher Lao empty, while serving a warrant for his arrest.

A photo handout from the the Senate's Public Information Bureau shows that the posh Davao residence of Lao, a former executive director of the Procurement Service of the DBM (PS-DBM), is empty when the Senate team arrives to serve the warrant for his arrest.

Since Friday, members of the OSAA have been searching for Lao in his known properties in Davao City and Cebu City after the orders of Senate President Vicente Sotto and Blue Ribbon committee Chairperson Sen. Richard to arrest the former DBM official for skipping the hearings on the 2020 COA (Commission on Audit) report related to the budget utilization of the Department of Health (DOH), particularly its COVID-19 expenditures.  —LBG, GMA News
