Former NTF-ELCAC spox Parlade formalizes presidential bid

Former National Task Force in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) spokesperson Ret. Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. will run for president in the 2022 elections.

Parlade, who retired from the military in July, replaced Antonio Valdez as the standard bearer of Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP), according to a tweet by GMA News' Joseph Morong.

Frequently accused of "red-tagging" during his stint at NTF-ELCAC, Parlade filed his candidacy on the last day of substitution for the 2022 elections.

Shortly after retiring from the military service and resigning from NTF-ELCAC, Parlade was appointed as deputy director-general of the National Security Council. --KBK, GMA News
