Syrian company owner  molests Pinay, 2 other workers in UAE

A Syrian owner of a company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) faced a Dubai court this week over charges he sexually molested three former employees, including a Filipina. However, the company owner denied that he groped the three former employees after forcing them to wear skimpy outfits, the news site Gulf News said on Wednesday. The 62-year-old Syrian told the Dubai Court of First Instance that he was innocent and did not molest his former employees. The court reconvenes on January 31 next year. The Gulf News report described the three former employees as an Algerian secretary, an Ethiopian saleswoman and a Filipina maid. In her testimony, the Algerian woman said she had worked for the suspect for four years. "He constantly ordered me to wear miniskirts and skimpy outfits ostensibly to draw more customers. He threatened to fire me if I refused to wear miniskirts; I was obliged to agree and wear such outfits because I needed my salary. He also threatened to cancel my visa and have me deported," she said in the Gulf News report. She alleged that the defendant molested her and groped her private parts a number of times. "He also ordered me to wash his private bathroom and molested me while I was cleaning it," she claimed. The two other plaintiffs upheld the statement. A security guard working at the company also backed the women's claims, the Gulf News report said. - VVP, GMA News
