Pinoy dentists in Saudi help promote overseas voting


Filipino dentists in Saudi Arabia helped promote the Philippine government's overseas absentee voting (OAV) registration efforts for the 2013 elections.   According to a news release of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, the "Filipino Dentists in KSA" (FDK) heading two group OAV registration projects as part of its social responsibility and community involvement efforts. On January 20, the FDK, headed by its president Lourdes Madayag, led 35 members and their relatives in registering as OAVs.   On January 27, another 11 FDK members and their relatives registered, the embassy said.   “I invite all Filipino community partners to follow the initiative of FDK and include OAV registration as part of your efforts in social responsibility and community building,” said Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin Tago.   Registering as an OAV will allow qualified Filipinos to vote for senators and party-list representatives in the National Elections from April to May 2013.   The OAV Registration booth is located at the Embassy’s lobby and is open:

  • Saturdays to Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and
  • on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
