Pinoy model wins Manhunt Intl pageant in Thailand


Thailand seems to love Filipinos. A week after a Pinoy transgender was crowned the winner in a pageant hosted there, model June Macasaet emerged as the winner in the Manhunt International 2012 male pageant in Bangkok.
 
Macasaet bested more than 50 contestants to become the 16th winner of the contest and the first Filipino to claim the title.
 
“Congratulations June Macasaet from the Philippiines! You now join the elite group of Manhunt International winners as the 16th winner. We hope you will work hard to prove yourself worthy of the title. Well done. Your journey starts tonight,” a post from Manhunt International’s official Facebook page said.
 
Following in the heels of Macasaet in second and third place were Sweden’s Bo Peter Jonsson and Macau’s Martin Wang, respectively, Rounding up fourth and fifth place were Jimmy Perez Rivera from Puerto Rico and Singapore’s Jason Chee.
 
According to Manhunt International, eligible contestants should be 18 to 30 years old, Single or Married, at least 5'11", proficient in English and have previous modeling experience.
 
Potential contestants should also have “photogenic [qualities], good physique, wonderful personality, cool character, [and] enthusiastic [personalities].”
 
As the winner, Macasaet will receive a $10,000 cash prize, a modeling contract, $25,000 worth of beauty treatments, $5,000 worth of photographic portfolios, and several other prizes worth more than $40,000.00.
 
Macasaet’s victory comes a week after fellow Filipino Kevin Balot was crowned "Miss International Queen 2012,” where the contest was also hosted in Thailand.
 
Manhunt International started in 1993, and touts itself as the largest and longest running male modeling contest in the world. - VVP, GMA News
