Jessica Soho, Vic Sotto, and Manny Pacquiao among most trusted personalities – Reader's Digest
GMA News pillar Jessica Soho, Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, and actor Vic Sotto were cited among Reader's Digest's most trusted people of 2013 on Thursday. Soho, GMA Network’s Vice President for News Programs, bagged the Reader's Digest 2013 Trusted Brand award for TV host in news and current affairs category, according to GMA Network's "Saksi" newscast. This is the third consecutive year that Soho received the award. “Napakalaking responsibilidad na patuloy na pagkatiwalaan ng ating mga manunuod. Hindi ko ito kaya kung wala ang buong GMA News and Public Affairs kaya para sa atin lahat ito,” she said. Sue Carney, Editor in Chief of Reader's Digest Asia Pacific lauded Soho for her achievements and her uncanny ability to connect with the public. “Jessica seems to write so highly of just somebody that really connects with the audience that the audience feels that somebody that they can believe in, that they can trust what she says,” Carney said. "She makes them feel comfortable. Obviously that's a job in a very professional way,” Carney added. Soho is host of the top-rating "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" on GMA-7. She is also the anchor of GMA News TV’s flagship newscast "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho" and the public affairs program "Brigada." Her many international accolades include:
- the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for her documentaries “Kidneys for Sale” and “Kamao”;
- the New York Film and Television Festival Award for her coverage of a hostage crisis in Cagayan Valley; and
- the Asian Television Award for Best News and Current Affairs Special "Saksi Sa Kasaysayan."
