MILF: Bravo attacks military positions in Lanao Norte

MANILA, Philippines - Defying an arrest order, a Moro Islamic Liberation Front sub-commander attacked military positions in Lanao del Norte province Friday, the MILF said Saturday. An article on MILF website said Commander Bravo, who led the attacks on Lanao del Norte last Aug. 18, stormed military positions in Nunungan, Poona Piagapo town. "The attack on AFP positions by Commander Bravo resulted (though unconfirmed) in the deaths of more than 30 soldiers," the MILF claimed. Many of the casualties have not yet been recovered due to the ferocity of the attack, it added. The attack came after the mujahideen (MILF warriors) abandoned a satellite camp of the MILF 102nd Base Command, which the military subsequently occupied.
