2 suspected gunmen of Laguna labor leader nabbed

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna — More than a month after the killing of a labor leader in Southern Tagalog, police on Friday announced the arrest of the alleged gunmen. Chief Supt. Nicasio Radovan, Calabarzon police director, identified the suspected gunmen as Perk George Librojo, 28, and Arnold David, 26. Radovan said Librojo and David were among the four gun-wielding men who shot and killed Andrew "Bok" Iñoza, 46, president of the Alaska Milk Corp workers’ union. Inoza was also the chairman of the Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino in the first district of Laguna. He was shot dead in Poblacion, San Pedro town, while driving to work on November 21. Radovan presented the alleged gunmen in a news briefing Friday morning. He said Librojo and David are members of the Royal Blood Gangsta whose members are allegedly behind several killings in the provinces of Laguna and Cavite. "These [suspected gunmen] started their nefarious activities as members of the gang. They eventually went into gun-for-hire activities. They have criminal records and were involved in several murder cases," Radovan said. Supt. Ricardo Villanueva, chief of the Laguna police special operations group, said Librojo and David were in Barangay Bagong Silang, San Pedro town, on December 20. He said the two were arrested based on a warrant issued by Carmona municipal trial court Judge Maria Rosario Bagasa for another murder case. Radovan said police withheld the announcement of the arrest pending the result of the interrogation of the suspects. He said they also waited for witnesses to report to their office. Radovan said witnesses identified the alleged gunmen. Radovan said it was still unclear who ordered the killing of Iñoza and why he was murdered. He said police are still looking at business rivalry and intra-union dispute as possible motives. Librojo said he is innocent of the charges. GMANews.TV
