1 killed, 12 hurt in 4-vehicle road accident in Quezon – NDRRMC


At least one person was killed while 12 were injured in a road accident involving two trucks and two buses in Quezon province early Friday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday.   In a report posted on its website Saturday morning, the NDRRMC said the incident occurred at 2:20 a.m. at Sitio Binutas in Sta. Catalina village in Atimonan town in Quezon.   "One of the trucks bound for Bicol carrying construction supplies (went out of) control and bumped into the Superlines passenger bus, Elf truck and Raymond bus, which were all traveling (to Manila)," it said.   Killed was Elf truck driver Ernesto Garbin Jr., 23, of Pagbilao town. He died on the spot, the NDRRMC said. Injured were:

  • Rolly Lim, 29, helper of Forward truck
  • Joan Soriano, 30
  • Abuer Montanes, 54
  • Lolita Avila, 65
  • Zenaida Villamonte, 67
  • Mancella Pajarillo, 38
  • Erika Pioquinto, 15
  • Hazel Predicala, 22
  • Jasper Josay, 4
  • Avery Ibis, 14
  • Joan Ibis, 12
  The injured were brought to the Doña Marta District Hospital and Jane Country Hospital in Atimonan.   Those brought to the Jane Country Hospital were transferred to Quezon Medical Hospital in Lucena City. — ELR, GMA News
