Iloilo bikini show turns bloody as 4 killed in audience melee

They came to ogle and ended up dead. Four people - including a policeman and a village chairman - were killed while four others were wounded in a shooting incident that marred a bikini open event in Iloilo province shortly after midnight Thursday.

The incident occurred at 12:10 a.m. Friday at the Jaro area in Iloilo City, according to a report by radio dzBB's Iloilo affiliate.

Killed in the incident were village chairman Rolando Tabuada, PO3 Jerome Jacolina, Remy Jacolina, and tricycle driver Avelino Savidalas.

Thouse wounded were Archie Degoma Jr., Rio Jacolina, Richard Jacolina, and Sonia Apostol, the report said.

An initial investigation showed PO3 Jacolina and his party, who were watching the bikini open, allegedly made a scene when they protested the P3,000 bill for the food and beer they consumed.

Tabuada tried to pacify the group but one Henry Jacolina, a cousin of the policeman, allegedly drew out a firearm.

Henry and Tabuada grappled for the firearm, which went off and hit Tabuada in the chest. Shots rang out for about 10 minutes.

Recovered from the scene were 32 shells of a cal-.45 pistol, 39 shells from a 9-mm pistol, and 13 slugs. — RSJ/HS, GMA News
