Aga Muhlach files protest over Camarines Sur election results

Actor Aga Muhlach, who ran for a congressional seat in Camarines Sur province, has filed an electoral protest against winning candidate and now Congressman-elect Wimpy Fuentebella.

According to a report aired over GMA News TV's “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho,” Muhlach's lawyer, Atty. Romulo Macalintal, said they were contesting the election results in seven Camarines Sur municipalities.

Muhlach believes that a recount in these municipalities will give him 7,000 more votes which would be enough to change the election results in his favor. Fuentebella won the election with a 2,000 vote lead over Muhlach.

The actor's camp believes that the 7,000 votes were not counted because of technical problems with the PCOS machines in several precincts.

Neither Fuentebella nor his official spokespeople could be reached for comment as of posting time. — DVM, GMA News
