Report: Suspected Sayyaf bandits seize two indie filmmakers in Sulu

Pursuit operations are ongoing against suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits who reportedly abducted two indie filmmakers in Sulu on Saturday.

The abduction occurred in Sitio Baunuh in Barangay Liang in Patikul town on Saturday morning, according to a report on Bombo Radyo.

Joint Task Force Sulu commander Col. Jose Cenabre identified the kidnapped sisters as Linda Abdel Basit and Nadova Abdel Basit.

The two sisters were supposedly public relations officers of Sulu Sultan Bantilan Muizudin in Indanan town, the report said.

Citing initial information reaching him, Cenabre said the sisters were riding a passenger jeep at 9:30 a.m. when they were abducted.

He said some eight Abu Sayyaf bandits led by one Ninok Sappari then took the two women.

Security forces are still determining where the bandits took the sisters. — LBG, GMA News
