NDRRMC: Landslides, flash floods in Bukidnon destroy P2.39M in property

Landslides and flash floods stemming from at least 10 days of rain this month caused landslides and flash floods that destroyed some P2.39 million in agriculture and infrastructure in the town of Kibawe in Bukidnon.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Saturday night said the town's disaster management council issued Resolution 10 recommending a state of calamity.

In its report, it said the damage to property included P1,093,115 in agriculture and P1,297,000 in infrastructure. At least three houses were destroyed, with the NDRRMC estimating their worth at P44,000.

The rain from June 1 to 10 affected 906 families or 4,683 people, it added.

Also, the NDRRMC said a landslide damaged the road connecting Barangays Balintawak and Marapangi. Another landslide damaged the Kibawe National High School and Magsaysay Road. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
