2 miners dead, 6 hurt in Benguet accidental gas poisoning

Two miners died while six others were hospitalized following a gas poisoning incident in a pocket mining tunnel in Benguet Monday, the Philippine National Police said Wednesday.

 

PNP Cordillera spokesman Superintendent Davy Limmong said all the victims were residents of Barangay Cabiten in Mankayan town in Benguet.

 

Limmong said the tunnel was located in the Tumtumba area in Barangay Cabiten.

 

He identified the fatalities as Dante Lingyasan, 36; and Elton Labintas, 19.
