Floods, landslides affect parts of Bohol

Heavy rain from Tropical Depression Queenie has flooded two highways in Bohol rendering one impassable, state-run Philippine Information Agency reported Thursday.

In a post on its Twitter account, the PIA said the water from Camayaan Creek flooded the highway in Cortes town.

Also, it said the Rosario section of the Cortes-Balilihan road was impassable due to flood.

Queenie has dumped rain over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao since Wednesday.

In Cebu, the water level of Argao River rose and prompted the evacuation of 100 people from Barangay Jomgao to the Cerge Remonde Sports Complex.

The provincial government said at least 50 families from Barangays Bulasa, Langtad, Canbanua, Poblacion and Jomgao have been evacuated as well.

Meanwhile, the provincial government also said two foot bridges in barangay Jomgao had been damaged, while roads in Barangays Bala-as, Linut-od and Calagasan are blocked due to landslides.
