Labor leader Democrito Mendoza dies


The co-founder of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines, Democrito "Kito" Mendoza, died on Tuesday evening, a Cebu station in its Facebook account.

He is the current chairman of Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) and chairman of Vimcontu Broadcasting Corporation which owns and operates DYLA.

"It is with great sadness to announce that the beloved chairman of our company and Labor leader Democrito "Kito" Mendoza died at past 6 pm tonight at the Chong Hua Hospital," the station announced. Mendoza was 92 years old.

Alex Aguilar, Pag-IBIG Fund vice president, posted on his Facebook account, "Democrito T Mendoza. RIP. Sir. Rest na. Thank you for everything. I love you!"
