Army: NPA members abduct Agusan businessman, asking for ransom

Suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) abducted a businessman in Agusan del Sur on Saturday morning, the Philippine Army said.

The Army's 401st Infantry Brigade (IB) identified the businessman as Carzon Ceasar Lademora, who operates a mining tunnel in Rosario town.

The 401st IB said members of NPA Front 14 led by a certain Monic abducted Lademora after ransacking the victim's mining tunnel in Sitio Anuling, Barangay Bayugan 3.

The Army unit said the suspected rebels were demanding money from the victim's family. —ALG, GMA News
