Bulacan policemen kill 29 drug suspects in 24 hours


Three more drug suspects were killed by Bulacan policemen on Tuesday night, bringing the death toll in the provincial police's anti-drugs operations this week to 29.

Live-in partners Victoria dela Cruz and Alvin Marquez were killed by policemen serving a search warrant in Barangay Atlag.

Superintendent Heryl Bruno, Malolos town police chief, said Dela Cruz fired at policemen as they were entering her room.

Marquez, meanwhile, was killed by police officers at the back of their house.

Barangay chairman Danilo Clavio said Dela Cruz and Marquez are known drug personalities in their village.

Police said seized from the couple were a .22 revolver, a .38 revolver, two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Policemen also killed a certain alias Quintin in a buy-bust operation in nearby Barangay Look 2.

Authorities said the suspect pulled out a gun when he sensed that he was dealing with policemen.

The latest killings brought the death toll in the Bulacan police's anti-drugs operations this week to 29.

In an initial report, provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat said a total of 21 drug suspects were killed and 64 others were arrested in separate raids in the province from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

By Tuesday night, the number had increased to 26.

The other towns were anti-drugs operations were conducted since Monday were Balagtas, Baliuag, Bulakan, Calumpit, Guiguinto, Marilao, Norzagaray, Obando, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Jose del Monte, San Miguel, Sta. Maria. —report from Victoria Tulad/ALG, GMA News
