Massive fire hits Cebu City village

A massive fire struck a residential area in Cebu City on Sunday afternoon.

A Super Radyo dzBB report said the fire has been raging for nearly three hours as of this posting.

The fire started at around 12:26 p.m. in Sitio Lawis in Barangay Pasil. It was placed on general alarm, which sends all available firetrucks and personnel.

As of 3 p.m., the fire has spread to Sitios Mahayahay and Riverside.

The report said that at least 100 houses have been affected by the blaze.

The report said that based on initial information received by fire investigators, the fire started when a boy residing in Sitio Lawis played with a match. —report from RGMA Cebu's Allan Majait/ALG, GMA News
