The municipality of El Nido in Palawan has been placed under a state of calamity after the effects of week-long heavy rains in the area.
According to Philippine Information Agency - MIMAROPA on Sunday, floods have resulted in the evacuation of residents in various barangays such as Villa Libertad, Bucana, Masagana, New Ibajay, and Aberawan.
In the past weeks, monsoon rains enhanced by tropical cyclones had brought torrential rains in Palawan which resulted in floods in some areas.
Netizen Dave Dela Torre Distal also posted on Facebook photos of the flooding and rescue of affected residents in Barangay Villa Libertad in El Nido by the 405th Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Turtle Divers group.
