8-month old baby drowns in flood as Ompong threatens Albay

An eight-month-old infant drowned in floodwater in Pioduran, Albay after the baby fell through a hole in the floor of their home.

A report by Oscar Oida in 24 Oras on Friday said that the incident happened while the family was sleeping.

The mother found the child floating in the flood when she looked for them upon waking up.

The tragedy happened as residents either prepared their homes or fled their communities as Typhoon Ompong approached Luzon.

Continuous rains already plagued Albay throughout the afternoon on Friday.

More than 200 passengers have been stranded in Tabaco Port the past three days.

However, some fishermen still went out to sea despite warnings.
