Fire hits candy factory in Taytay
A candy factory at the Rizal Technopark in Taytay, Rizal caught fire before dawn Saturday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire was reported to have started at 2:40 a.m. at the Sweet Tech Industries building owned by a Kim Chung in Barangay San Juan, according to a report on Super Radyo dzBB.

Aside from affecting the candy-making facilities, the fire also affected a warehouse storing textile.
More than 1,000 candies that were supposed to be sold in time for Christmas were burned, according to a report on News TV Live.
A worker said there were five of them inside the building when thick smoke came out of the cutting section.
They used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire but it quickly spread.
The fire which reached the second alarm was put under control at 3:54 a.m, according to Taytay Bureau of Fire Protection chief Fire Safety Inspector Winnie Astrero, according to Super Radyo dzBB's Jonathan Andal.
Fire out was declared at 5:41 a.m.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The BFP also said initial damage was estimated to reach P10 million.

According to Astrero, the building had no fire safety inspection certificate (FSIC) yet.
The facility was inspected by the BFP last month.
