Bluebottle jellyfish washed up on Surigao del Norte's shore


Visitors to beaches in Bacuag, Surigao del Norte will get an unpleasant surprise with the hordes of bluebottle jellyfish lying on its shore.

Because of this, the local government has enofrced a temporary ban on swimming in the area, according to a report by Emil Sumangil on "Quick Response Team."

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said the bluebottle, a common species on jellyfish, are poisonous.

The local government has not recorded any victim of stinging in the area. —LDF, GMA News
