8 people killed, several others hurt in Kalinga road crash

Eight people were killed and several others hurt in a road crash involving an elf truck that plunged into a ravine in Kalinga province on Saturday morning, police said.

An initial police investigation indicated that the incident occurred in the town of Tabuk while the driver was negotiating an uphill road and with gear failing to engage , the vehicle slipped down into a ravine.

Those injured were rusted to nearby hospital.
