CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The local government of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro will look into an ambulance driver's alleged use of the government-owned emergency vehicle for a personal outing during Holy Week.

Photos circulating on social media show the ambulance parked by a riverbed under Amnay Bridge in Barangay Pag-asa.

One photo shows a wet T-shirt hung over the driver's seat window.

Sablayan Mayor Eduardo Gadiano on Sunday confirmed with GMA News that the ambulance with plate number SKT 741 and the words "LGU-Sablayan" on its side is the property of the Sablayan local government.

Gadiano also said that the driver is assigned to the northern part of the town. He added that he will not disregard the issue.

"Kailangang bigyan ng disciplinary action 'yung driver dahil mali 'yung ginawa niya. Tatlo lang pinagpipilian ko sa kanya: suspension, termination, o mag-resign siya, kasi mali ang ginawa niya," he told GMA News in a phone interview. — BM, GMA News
