2 kids die in Porac; 40 trapped in collapsed supermarket after quake


 

Two children have died in separate barangays in Porac, Pampanga after a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the central part of Luzon on Monday afternoon.

The victims were aged three and seven years old, according to Vice Mayor Dexter David in an interview on 24 Oras.

"Nasawi na po 'yung mga bata. Hindi po sila nag-survive," he said.

Meanwhile, at least 40 people were trapped in a supermarket that collapsed during the quake.

"Totally bumagsak po talaga 'yung apat na palapag na building," David said.

Three have been rescued so far while operations are ongoing to save the others.

A power outage is being experienced in Porac as of 7:23 p.m. Authorities are still investigating if there are other people hurt in the incident. —Dona Magsino/JST, GMA News
