TV reporter turned human rights investigator shot dead in Cotabato City

A former TV reporter and now human rights investigator was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Cotabato City, according to an Unang Balita report on Thursday.

Based on initial investigation, the victim, Archad Ayao, was shot shortly after leaving his apartment.

Witnesses said they heard three gunshots.

Ayao died on the spot after being shot in the head.

Also killed was the driver of the 'habal-habal' that was carrying Ayao.

Probers are looking on whether the killing was connected with Ayao's human rights cases in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. —KBK, GMA News
