Tommy Osmeña yet to lose sense of humor, ribs losing councilor over concession statement

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña may have lost his reelection bid but it appears he has yet to lose his sense of humor.

After the elections on Monday, Osmena said his goodbyes and thank yous to Cebuaños in a long, heartfelt message posted on his Facebook page.

A day later, Osmeña posted a screenshot of a defeated councilor's apparent concession message, parts of which were similar to his.

"Do your homework oi hehe" the outgoing mayor said in his caption.

Osmeña had served as Cebu City mayor for several terms over the past few decades.

He sought reelection in the 2019 mid-terms under Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) but lost to incumbent Cebu City Vice Mayor Edgar Labella under PDP-Laban.

Labella garnered 265,436 votes whereas Osmeña only had 246,399, based on the partial and unofficial tally as of May 14 at 3:50 p.m. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
