Students stab 2 Catbalogan security guards

Two private security guards were badly wounded after several Catbalogan City, Samar students assaulted and stabbed them.

According to Bernadette Reyes' Saturday report on GMA 7 news program 24 Oras Weekend, the students started ganging up on guard Jeoffrey Cabreza after he warned them against drinking alcoholic beverages within the school campus.

Chaos erupted as the students then attacked Cabreza.

Cabreza tried to flee, but the students chased after him. Another guard, Dino Lamograr, tried to assist Cabrera, but he too was attacked.

One of the rampaging students brandished an ice pick and stabbed both guards.

The two guards were taken to hospital, while the 16-years-old student who allegedly did the stabbing was arrested.

The school, meanwhile, had yet to issue a statement on the incident occurred as of posting time. — Kaela Malig/DVM, GMA News
