Six Indonesians and three Filipinos were arrested in Tawi-Tawi on Sunday by the Special Operations Unit of Maritime Police for alleged illegal fishing.
The nine fishermen were nabbed after they were found to have onboard their banca dried shark and other endangered fish said to be caught illegally.
The Maritime Police apprehended the group when they entered Philippine territory.
They said surveillance on the group has been going on for quite sometime.
The nine fishermen have been detained and will face charges.
