3 suspected NPA members nabbed in Negros Oriental

After an armed encounter against the government troops, three suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were nabbed in a town in Negros Oriental on Tuesday, according to a report of Emil Sumangil on GMA News’ Balitanghali on Wednesday.

The armed encounter in Bindoy, Negros Oriental lasted for 20 minutes.

Authorities have confiscated pistols and explosive devices from the suspects.

Following a series of killings reported in the province, the police have intensified its internal security operations against rebel groups.

The police said they already have persons of interest involved in some of the  cases, but could not yet divulge any information. —Joviland Rita/ LDF, GMA News
