Cops arrest man in Lucena, Quezon for vaping

Authorities apprehended Thursday night a man in Lucena City in Quezon province for vaping in public place, police said on Friday.

Lucena City Police Station identified the man as Marq Joseph Bobis Virtucio, 21, a resident of Barangay Gulang-Gulang.

Virtucio’s vape was confiscated and to be disposed of properly by authorities, police said, adding that the man was immediately released after the filing of blotter.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said there is no reported arrest of vape smokers in other areas.

“Parang sumunod naman ang lahat sa kautusan ng Pangulo. Sana patuloy lang na ganito,” Banac told GMA News Online.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier directed the police to "arrest" vape smokers in public. He also announced the ban on importing vaping devices. —LBG, GMA News
