Abu Sayyaf member in Patikul, Sulu surrenders


PATIKUL, Sulu —Another member of a cell (Ajang-Ajang) of the notorious bandit Abu Sayyaf Group operating in the province yielded to government troops from the Philippine Army's 92nd Infantry Battalion on December 18, 2019.

Brigadier General Leopoldo Imbang. Jr., commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team; and Lt. Col. Raul  Vigo, commanding officer of the 92nd Infantry Battalion, facilitated the surrender of the ASG member in Barangay Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu.

Al-Amin Jul-Ambri, 37, also surrendered his US Rifle (Springfield) Cal. 30 Garand with magazines and ammunition.

“I am very much thankful for the effort of the 92nd Infantry (Tanglaw Diwa) Battalion in the leadership of LTC VIGO for facilitating the surrender of Al-Amin Jul-Ambri, an ASG Ajang-Ajang member,” BGen. Imbang said.

For his part Lt. Col.Vigo said, “It shows that our soldier serves as a key towards change and bringing peace in Sulu Province. Moreover, I am hoping that we can encourage more terrorists to surrender and to be with our government for us to help our country in attaining peace.” —LBG, GMA News
