'The Godmother,' 2 female OFWs who share a husband arrested in Cavite buy bust ops

A woman known as 'The Godmother' and two female overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who share a husband were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Bacoor, Cavite, Bam Alegre reported on Unang Balita Thursday.

The police received information that a high value target in Barangay Molino in Bacoor, Cavite is hiding a large amount of drugs inside a can of milk.

The police conducted a raid and found 635 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect identified as  Aisa Juiamalo.

"Pagdating po nila nasa labas ako, di ko alam 'yung pinapahanap na droga," Juiamalo said.

However, the police said Juiamalo is known as "The Godmother" and that she employs several runners.

Two of these runners were arrested, Bainoy Saidali and Nasser Makalpal. Both declined to issue a statement.

In a separate operation conducted in the same town, two other alleged couriers were arrested with 50 grams each of suspected illegal drugs.

Ramona Punyong said she will get paid after she delivers the drugs.

The second suspect, Baebon Muhammad, said the payment is between P2,000 and P3,000 if the identified receiver did not owe money to the supplier.

The police were able to confiscate up to P5 million worth of illegal drugs.

Based on initial police investigation, the couriers who were instructed to deliver were OFWs waiting for their next job contract.

"Itong tatlong babae mga OFW, may contract sa Middle East umuwi hinihintay tawag sa agency habang naghihintay ni-recruit. May pangako (na) bawat deliver may komisyon," said Bacoor Police Chief Lt. Col. Vicente Cabatingan.

Ramona Punyong worked as a domestic helper in Saudi while Baebon Muhammad used to work in Dubai also as a domestic helper.

There is another twist to the narrative, Punyong and Muhammad share one husband.

He is in Cotabato taking care of their children.

Punyong and Muhammad, who is pregnant, were not in good terms so they both travelled to Manila to earn some money.

"Pumunta ako Manila, nabalitaan ko pumunta siya Manila. Pero di ko alam san banda," said Muhammad.
