TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol - A policewoman was allegedly shot dead by her husband who is also a policeman inside their home in Sitio Ingod in Barangay Centro, Tubigon town, on Monday morning.
Tubigon police identified the couple as Police Staff Sergeant Juliet Tuquib and Police Staff Sergeant Ariel Tuquib.
The incident happened at 7 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020.
Juliet was assigned at Clarin Police Station, while Ariel was assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU).
Based on the initial investigation by Tubigon Police, the couple's house helper identified as Analie Ido Suaybagiou was in the kitchen when she heard a gunshot from the private room of the couple at the second floor of the house.
She told the police that another gunshot followed.
Responding police had to forcibly open the door since the room was locked from the inside and found Juliet's body on the floor covered in blood while Ariel was seating on the edge of the bed.
Recovered from the crime scene were one 9mm caliber pistol, Glock 17 loaded with 10 live ammunition, cellphones and two empty shells of 9 mm.
Ariel was brought to Tubigon Community Hospital for treatment after he also sustained gunshot wound in his left face. He is in critical condition.
Tubigon Police said they are looking at family problem as the motive of the incident.
Police added that the couple always had an argument on different issues.
Police Col. Jonathan Cabal, acting provincial director, said Ariel who was subject for dismissal due to a mental problem.
"May history of nervous breakdown. Dahil niyan hindi siya makaduty ng maayos," said Cabal. Ariel's "disability discharge" was being processed. — BAP, GMA News
