The local government of Capas town in Tarlac has agreed to a plan to use New Clark City as a quarantine facility for repatriated Filipinos from Wuhan, China.

However, Capas acting-Mayor Butch Rodriguez clarified they would only accommodate the first batch of repatriated Filipinos, according to a Saturday report on GMA News' 24 Oras Weekend.

Though Rodriquez reiterated their opposition in using the Athlete's Village as a quarantine facility, he conceded that there was nothing they could do.

On Thursday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that the repatriated Filipinos would be quarantined at the Athlete's Village.

Meanwhile, as of Saturday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said 56 individuals, including seven spouses and four infants, have expressed their interest to be repatriated. — Joahna Lei Casilao/MDM, GMA News
