Shuttle ride breaks down at Enchanted Kingdom

A mishap occurred in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Wednesday night, when Enchanted Kingdom's 25-foot space shuttle roller coaster malfunctioned, leaving several of its riders stuck on top of the coaster's loop, Gio Dungalio, who witnessed the incident, told radio dzBB in an interview. Franco Cancho, park relations head of the Enchanted Kingdom, told dzBB in a separate interview that all of the 25 riders of the space shuttle, mostly students, were safely rescued, and were brought to the establishment's clinic. He said the incident happened about 6 p.m. In another report, GMA's 24-Oras said personnel of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) helped bring down the passengers from the coaster. Emma Landayen, a teacher from Felizardo Lipana High School in Guiguinto, Bulacan, told 24-Oras that some of her students were aboard the shuttle when the incident happened. "Patapos na (ang ride) nakaikot na sila ng pabalik sa sa pabilog tapos do'n na sa medyo patagilid nagpabalik balik, ayon sa mga batang nakakita, saka biglang huminto na (The ride was about to finish when the shuttle suddenly stopped according to some children who witnessed the incident)," she told news anchor Mike Enriquez.
