UPLB asks for financial aid, food for students stranded in dorms due to enhanced community quarantine

The University of the Philippines Los Baños has asked for financial support and food donations for its students who are currently stranded in their dorms.

UPLB switched to online classes on Monday, but it later suspended all learning activities following the announcement of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

With the travel restrictions in place, many students were unable to return to their homes and have no choice but to stay in the campus.

Donations in cash may be deposited to the Landbank of the Philippines - UPLB Branch:

Account name: UPLB Foundation, Inc.
Account No.: 1892-1003-29

Likewise, food donations may be dropped off at the Men's/Coed Residence hall.

"Your generosity and kindness is much appreciated!" the university said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 187 as 45 new infections were confirmed. --Angelica Y. Yang/MGP, GMA News
