Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Thursday said the province is looking to conduct 10,000 to 15,000 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) tests a day in 10 weeks.

"Ang target ng Cavite ay sa sampung linggo ay magkakaroon ng kakayahan para sa 10,000 to 15,000 tests a day. Kapag 100 percent capacity na tayo ay test ngayon, resulta bukas," Remulla said in a live briefing.

According to Remulla, 25 swabbing stations across the province have been established.

He said their strategy involves the testing of all probable cases, followed by the testing of high-risk personnel, high-vectors of the disease, and public drivers, as well as all individuals working in eco-zones.

"Para sa ating ekonomiya ay kailangan ma-test lahat ng nagtatrabaho sa mga eco-zones. Pag isa ang may sakit ay mabilis kakalat sa loob ng mga pabrika," he said.

Critical COVID-19 cases will be brought to the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital, according to Remulla.

"For the economy to work, what we need is confidence. Confidence in our leaders that they are on top of the situation. Confidence in the science that we use to eradicate the disease. Confidence that the environment is safe or at least, informed when and where there is a problem," he said.—AOL, GMA News
