COVID-19 patient from General Santos City recovers —DOH-12

KIDAPAWAN CITY – A confirmed COVID-19 case from General Santos City has already tested negative for coronavirus during his fourth test, according to an official from the Department of Health - Center for Health Development in Soccsksargen region (DOH-CHD 12).

Arjohn Gangoso, spokesperson for DOH-12, said results of the Oropharyngeal swab (OPS) test of patient PH3669 taken last May 3 yielded negative result.  

This was his fourth test, Gangoso added. He tested positive during his third OPS test, which was taken last April 28, and was told to undergo another OPS test.

Results on PH3669’s latest test came out on May 7, the DoH-12 said.

“Currently, PH3669 is stable and completing the 14-day strict home quarantine,” the DoH-12 said in a press statement.

He will soon return to his residence but will have to undergo another 14 days of home quarantine.

Also, a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) assigned as frontliner in Antipas, North Cotabato, tested negative for Covid-19.

Data from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) in Antipas showed the CAFGU member, although he manifested flu-like symptoms after his travel to Davao City, was cleared from the virus.

Reports said the militiaman will soon be discharged from the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) in Cotabato City after his condition becomes stable.

He was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after he manifested cough, flu, and shortness of breath.  

The region has only 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and three still remain in isolation facilities, including PH3989 from Kidapawan City.
