By JULIA MARI ORNEDO,GMA News

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla said he is in talks with mall operators about a possible reopening of malls in the province following his order for their temporary closure.

“Maraming nagulat sa Executive Order na inilabas ko kahapon. Ito ay kinailangan dahil binalewala ang babala ko ukol dito,” he said on Facebook, referring to his order to shutter malls after administrators failed to enforce social distancing measures.

Remulla set the following conditions for malls to be given permission to reopen:

  • Mall operating hours must be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Only one entrance and one exit way must be used for the entire mall: “Nakahanda naman ang fire escape pag may emergency”
  • Malls must enforce a unilateral flow of shoppers through the use of arrows

  • Mall security must enforce social distancing measures inside and outside their establishments
  • Only quarantine passes will be honored at malls. Travel and transit passess will not be permitted: “Ang frontliners ay always welcome but subject to the same rules. Baka abusuhin din.”
  • Only a certain number of people will be allowed inside malls at a time
  • Each shopper will be given a time card and will only be allowed to stay for a maximum of one hour inside the mall: “‘Pag 10 minutes to go ay sasamahan kayo palabas. Ang grocery at supermarket ay konsensya ninyo ang time limit.”
  • Music must not be played through the PA systems of malls

Only locals will be allowed inside malls: “Ang SM, WalterMart, Robinson Dasmariñas ay para sa taga-Dasmariñas lamang. Pareho sa Bacoor, General Trias, Imus, at Silang. Ang Tanza ay may Puregold. Kailangan muna magkasundo ang mga mayor ng General Trias at Tanza para maibago Ito.”

Remulla added that residents of Cavite City, Noveleta, and Kawit will be allowed in Rosario; Maragondon, Naic, Trece, Ternate, at Indang residents will be allowed in Trece; Mendez, Amadeo, Alfonso, Magallanes, and Barangay Cabangaan are allowed in Tagaytay; while residents of General Mariano Alvarez, Barangays Bulihan and Maguyam are allowed in Carmona.

“‘Pag successful at masunurin ang mga madlang people sa Mall Policy ay pagiisipan ko na ma-lift Ang liquor ban. Oh ayan ha,” the governor added. —LDF, GMA News
