Cotabato City’s 10th COVID-19 case is 9-month-old boy

COTABATO CITY - A nine-month-old boy has become the youngest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient in the city, and the 10th person infected by the dreaded disease.

Mayor Cynthia- Guaini Sayadi confirmed that the city's youngest victim is the brother of an 11-year old patient who tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.

The siblings were said to have been exposed to the city's seventh confirmed COVID-19 patient, a 26-year old government worker and housemate of the victims.

Cotabato City at the moment has three active cases in their isolation units at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center and all are in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 22-year old student from Cebu who availed of the government's Balik-Probinsya Program and returned to his native Maguindanao was found infected with COVID-19 as well.

He is a resident of Datu Saudi Ampatuan and currently in isolation at the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital in Datu Hoffer town.

His peers from the trip were also advised to undergo self-isolation according to Dr. Saffrulah Dipatuan, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s health minister.

The Bangsamoro Region has dedicated a P14-million facility to conduct confirmatory laboratory tests for residents from the BARMM and Region-12.

No deaths from the disease have been so far recorded in Maguindanao and Cotabato City. -MDM, GMA News
