3 health frontliners in Lipa City test positive for COVID-19

Three health frontliners in Lipa City, Batangas tested positive for COVID-19, according to Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa on Sunday.

Africa identified the health frontliners as follows:

• a 34-year-old male nurse from Barangay San Carlos
• a 37-year-old female nursing aide from Barangay Pinagkawitan

• a 49-year-old female midwife from Barangay Marawoy

All three are asymptomatic and tested positive during expanded testing conducted by the city government on health workers.

Contact tracing is currently being conducted to identify those who may have had close contact with the three cases.

According to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Sunday night, latest data from the City Health Office showed the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lipa City totaled 49 so far. 

Of this number, eight have died while 26 have recovered. —KG, GMA News
