P40M worth of suspected shabu seized in Bohol drug ops; 5 drug suspects arrested

A total of P40 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Bohol province on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

Information from Central Visayas police chief Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro said a buy-bust operation was launched on Monday afternoon in Talibon town which resulted in the arrest of drug suspect Jamie Dajao, 44.

Seized from him were four kilograms of suspected shabu worth P27 million.

In Tagbilaran City, four suspected drug personalities identified as Lelit Dajao Sinugbojan, 44; Chellomae Pescura Curayag, 33; Junalyn Abelgas Matura, 32; and Humprey Millana Cenabre, 34 were also arrested by authorities.

Police were able to confiscate two kilograms of suspected shabu, worth P13 million, from the suspects as well as some buy-bust money.

Due to these developments, PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa vowed that there will be no let-up in the fight against illegal drugs despite the police's task in the efforts to curb COVID-19.

"Even with the ongoing health crisis, police anti-illegal drugs operations will continue without let-up and will be unrelenting as ever,” Gamboa said in a statement. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
