Region 12 records another COVID-19 case, bringing total to 28

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Another student in Soccsksargen Region, who was rescued in Cebu, tested positive for Covid-19, reports from the Department of Health Center for Health Development Region 12 said.

Data showed the patient, who still awaits for his PH number, resides in General Santos City and was among those stranded in Cebu when the area was placed under community quarantine due to increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.

According to the DOH-12, the patient is in stable condition and was placed in a quarantine facility in General Santos City.

To date, the region has 28 confirmed Covid19 cases, with 18 recoveries, one death, and seven still awaiting their second swab test results.

Meantime, another suspect Covid-19 death was reported in Region 12, data from the DOH-12 show.

The latest was a 2-month old baby who died of acute respiratory distress syndrome or prematurity.   His specimen turned out to be negative for Covid-19.

North Cotabato, officials from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) said, is now considered free from active Covid-19 case after two of its remaining cases recovered just this week – one, a 19-year old male student from M’lang; and the other, a construction worker from Banisilan, Cotabato.  —LBG, GMA News
