Cebu City withdraws order on mandatory bicycle registration

The Cebu City government on Saturday issued an order for the mandatory registration of bicycles but later took back the order.

"Taking into consideration the welfare of the Cebuanos, the requirement on mandatory registration of bicycles and prohibition of their use in Cebu City streets are SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY, effective today. Further, requirement of Driver’s ID for drivers of public utility vehicles plying Cebu City streets are likewise SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY," Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella said in a statement.
